Ooh, that's beautiful. I can see Kurt wearing that to school. I can also see Kurt convincing Blaine to pose in it for a set of artsy photographs. Possibly by getting him just a bit tipsy....
I've been fascinated by this one, too, ever since I saw it. It illustrates my other favourite Blaine-in-a-corset fic, Dress You Up in My Love, which you should check out if you haven't already. It's pretty great.
My ITWOS version of Kurt would love to photograph Blaine in that corset, but with a different shirt than the one he had. My current head canon for Kurt over the summer is that he starts putting together a portfolio of outfits on models he's styled with which to apply to various fashion magazines. I think he'd want to use Blaine and Tina and Mike and Brittany as his models, so perhaps I can write something with a return of Kurt's corset. :)
And, OMG, that pinstripe suit with the corset? I would love to see them put Kurt in something like that (or, now that I'm thinking about it, Mike, with a bowler). Holy heck; that is an awesome riff on the traditional waistcoat. Also, I have not read the fic! I didn't know there were other Blaine + corset stories out there. Thank you for the rec & link. :)
Oh, no shirt at all. Pin-up Blaine. Shoulder muscles, chiaroscuro.
I approve of this head canon, although I would like him to get a college degree. Now I'm having beautiful daydreams about Kurt and Blaine trading knowledge and studying up on cameras and lighting and texture, brainstorming a shoot together, storyboarding it.
And there's this thing Blaine saw on one of the Firefly dvd extras where Joss talked about doing the takes he needed for the scene, plus "one for Nathan" – one extra shot for Nathan Fillion to improvise, or play staggering drunk, or whatever ridiculousness he came up with. So they institute that, and Kurt's surprised to find over time that those are often his favourite and best shots – the least rigidly planned. Which is a valuable lesson for him that summer. And as they all get more comfortable with each other, some of them get a little erotic. They're eighteen, and it's summer, and they're all more than a little in love with each other. And so it goes.
And, OMG, that pinstripe suit with the corset? ...Mike, with a bowler
Mike could so pull that off. He would, too, if Kurt poked him. I love his style. He's as nostalgic as Blaine, in his own way.

This has given me such ridiculously vivid & tenacious mental images. Zoiks! I think Kurt would maybe let his curls show too, not product free, but visible. Do some in color, all warm with early summer evening sun at sharp angles. Some maybe in B&W. Or, in brighter, starker morning sunlight with the window mullions making a graph of shadow.
Or, yeah. Okay, I'm liking this idea for the boys' summer! I'm with you though, I really would like to see Kurt get a degree, too. But, you know, maybe he could turn some internships into opportunities for education? I'm trying to anticipate what's going to happen next season, and with some of the announcements, a fashion magazine internship doesn't sound too unlikely. It's never going to happen (because it would be a completely different show, but) I'd also love to see Kurt in D.C. with his Dad. I think once he got his bearings & learned the rules of the game, he could be an awesome combination of ruthlessness and compassion and get shit done.
Also, extra shots just for Blaine. So much potential fun! <3 I'm also thinking Kurt might get Brittany in on the photography as well, so he could model for some of the shots, too.
You're right about Mike and the nostalgic wardrobe. I think it's funny that I see comments about Blaine's outfits (frequently critical), but almost never read anyone talking about Mike's clothes. Speaking of which, sorta, did you see the shoot Harry did for GQ Japan? He's a beautiful model!

Golly, you paint pretty pictures, too. *rolls around in them*

And your completely different show shall be penned by Aaron Sorkin. Sorkin dialogue in Colfer's mouth: god, please. wordplay was working on such a thing at one point – an AU in which Kurt never spied on the Warblers, failed to get into NYADA, and spent a year in DC before meeting Blaine at Oberlin.
I guess one thing a year in politics would do to him, for good or for ill, would be to teach him how to compromise. (*eyeballs Congress* Then again...maybe not this election cycle....) It would be interesting to see how he handled it, because it's generally a thing Kurt's terrible at. He's an all-or-nothing kind of guy, compromise a hard word and harder act. Understandable, honestly, when you consider how many times in the past it's boiled down to someone asking Kurt to compromise himself.
I'm also thinking Kurt might get Brittany in on the photography as well, so he could model for some of the shots, too.
Ho ho, you think Blaine's going to let Kurt get away with staying behind the camera? At first Kurt tries to stick to that coy Scarlett O'Hara impression of his while wearing his favourite Marc Jacobs, and they put up with it for a while. Eventually they manhandle him into some different clothes, and tease and tug him into a sulky Jimmy Dean slouch, a few spontaneous fits of laughter (Blaine is not above tickling), and one day a staged scene in the Andersons' parlour, with Kurt looking Mr. Darcyish in formal morning dress, sipping tea while staring out a tall picture window. Behind him, Tina peruses a newspaper, with her elegant feet propped on...Mike, who is playing ottoman with flawless posture, though he also has the morning paper open on the floor in front of him, one hand poised to turn the page. It's a bitch to light, but the results leave them all a little bit in shock.
I think it's funny that I see comments about Blaine's outfits (frequently critical), but almost never read anyone talking about Mike's clothes.
I know, right? I don't always think Blaine's clothes are flattering, but I do think they convey exactly what the costumers mean them to. Mike, meanwhile, is so laid back and low key that nobody notices he's cooler than any of them.
I'm glad! :D I really want to put Blaine in it again, maybe for a photo-shoot with Kurt. Perhaps with a high collared white shirt and a black velvet blazer. IDK.
(I didn't know if anyone would see this post here, I just cross-posted it from an entry on my dw journal from May so I'd have the reference over here too. I'm glad it showed up!)
