[Ficlets] Five Glee Drabbles...

...for randomly generated adjectives as prompts: my self-set challenge was to write some not!Kurt/Blaine scenes with some sort of erotic element or situation (though the scenes are not necessarily erotic, nor are they explicit) without using any adjectives or adverbs myself. I did not entirely succeed avoiding all adjectives and adverbs, but I tried.

Pairings include: Kurt/Brittany, Finn/Santana, Kurt/Sam, Tina/Mike, Blaine/Eli | T | canon set | Drama | mature themes and sexual situations | 100 words each

ill-informed – Kurt/Brittany | set during "Laryngitis"

"Does he mean a burglar alarm?" Brittany asked.

Kurt no longer felt like the innocent in the room then. He understood, as much as he didn't know and as much as he didn't intend, he still had a responsibility to her. "He meant a condom," Kurt said.

Brittany frowned. "But I'm comfortable here. Why do we have to go somewhere else?"

And Kurt realized he didn't understand at all. "We're not having sex," he told her.

"Oh, okay," Brittany said with sadness. "Then can we stay in your room and kiss some more?"

Kurt didn't expect to regret saying no.

pathetic – Finn/Santana | set during "The Power of Madonna"

Santana lay beside him, looking out the hotel room window. Passing cars swept angles of light over her skin. Being so near her nudity, Finn thought he would feel more like a man. Instead he felt like a sucker, but he didn't know what the con had been.

So he didn't know what to say to Santana. His body wanted to sleep, but Finn couldn't. He thought of Rachel; it didn't help.

Santana stirred and sat. Finn didn't look at her breasts. "Was it good for you?" she asked. He heard the way her voice cracked with sarcasm. She knew.

charming – Kurt/Sam | set during "Duets"

The question of Sam's sexuality occupied Kurt all week. At least until he saw his performance with Quinn and agreed with Santana's judgment.

It wasn't even that Kurt was falling in love. It was the hope of having someone with whom to cultivate a rapport. Sam didn't recoil from Kurt's attention. Instead, he reeled and blushed in a way that both endeared and gratified: he charmed.

Even when Kurt pressed the nature of Sam's affection, Sam remained a man of honor. And when Kurt reneged on their partnership and realized he'd disappointed Sam, that itself was a novelty to treasure.

verdant – Tina/Mike | "Yes/No" flashback

The air of late spring draped them like satin. It refreshed and soothed. Tina leaned back on the picnic blanket and watched her companion. Emotion found expression in movement. She studied his smile, the hitch of his eyebrows, and the grace of his shoulder to elbow to wrist to hand.

Mike didn't speak as he opened the pottle of strawberries. The breeze ruffled the grass around them. Nor did he speak as he poured her a glass of sparkling cider. The wax paper from their sandwiches threatened to tumble off the blanket.

Mike's kiss tasted of smiles, sweetness, and summer.

empty – Blaine/Eli | set during "The Break Up" / "Dynamic Duets" flashback

Blaine pulled his shirt over his head. It caught on the sweat glazing his shoulders and chest. It wasn't all his, and his stomach heaved at the knowledge it wasn't Kurt's either. His heart still raced from exertion, his breath still puffed, his body still warmed with pleasure. He needed to leave before Eli came back. There would be no embraces in the afterglow or words of affection. Nothing to hold on to. Blaine looked for his shoes.

A footstep sounded behind him. "Are you okay?" Eli asked.

"No," Blaine said. It was too late, and it always would be.

What an interesting writing exercise! I should be doing more stuff like this. Unfortunately, I'm always too busy either working or trying to write a story for one of the Glee Big Bangs I've signed up for. But this is a great idea, I'll try to keep it in mind for that hypothetical day when I do have the time.

I love how you captured the characters' POVs in so few words.

It was a good exercise. I was feeling a bit stalled on a bigger project, so wanted to do something a little different with my brain. I had my premise for scenes with some kind of erotic component before I generated the adjectives, and I had also committed myself to use whatever five I got first. I think I groaned out loud when "ill-informed" popped up first only to be followed by "pathetic", so I'm glad I managed to do something characterful with them!

Thank you for reading & for the comments! :)
