Another fangirl moment (4x04 thoughts)
(ETAx4: now with more speculative blather!)
And a Lucretius quote, because I like it and think it possibly relevant:
Apparently there's going to be an acoustic cover of "Teenage Dream"? (Looks like a definitely, the cover is on Amazon.)
I believe the emotion I am presently feeling is described these days as 'I can't even'. Because I can't. I keep thinking I can process Glee like a grown up, and then something like this blind sides me and I feel fifteen again. :P
As for speculation? Oh my god, this could be heartbreakingly beautiful or crushingly sad. What if Blaine sings this to Kurt by way of apology and reconciliation? Or what if Kurt sings it to Blaine as a last effort to keep him but Blaine leaves anyway? Tears either way.
Or maybe Will sings it to Emma. :P
ETA: Oh, oh, Blaine could sing earlier on to try to recall Kurt's memory, because Kurt is forgetting Blaine now that he is in Elysium and had to drink from the river Lethe. (I know I've mentioned the Lethe thing before, so apologies for being repetitive). Like maybe he sings it over Skype and it doesn't work, so he has to go to NY.
ETA2: And there's the "Don't ever look back" line from TD they recently echoed in "It's Time". Ouch?
ETA3: I watched the Katy Perry video again for kicks. I'd forgotten the guy boxing while Katy looks on. Just a detail. But it reminded me how much the song is about sex, and then I thought about Ryan Murphy's tweet (I am paraphrasing because I can't be arsed trawling through his twitter timeline Here!) in reply to someone asking if Kurt & Blaine were ever going to kiss again. His response was, "Oh honey, it will happen, just wait", which could be taken to mean there's a scene upcoming with a lot of kissing?† IDK. This was before they'd filmed much farther than 4x04 anyway. I'm possibly reaching, but if the song is part of a reconciliation, maybe there's some sexy times involved? Like, Blaine does sing the song to recall Kurt's memory, but it's the last number in the episode and we get a montage of restored intimacy?
ETA4: Another thought! It seems to me that Kurt has never looked back; he's always looked forward within the context of their relationship. So Blaine's been the one who's looking back and thinking it's over. But it's not, it just will never be the same as it was. So maybe what's happened is Blaine has mistaken the change in their relationship for an ending and thinks he has to break up with Kurt, but really what's happening is he's mourning the death of their relationship as teenagers. "It's Time" to embark on a new relationship as adults. Don't look back! Kurt is never saying "goodbye". Transformation! /blather (Yeah, okay, I'm definitely reaching too far now.)
I just want this to be beautiful and good, but I'm afraid it's going to hurt instead. I had been feeling pretty phlegmatic about a break-up. Less so now. :/

† FWIW, I am not inclined to count kisses, just trying to put stuff together in my head.

"For if anything is so transformed as to overstep its own limits, this means the immediate death of what it was before."

If it's true, all I can say is, Please let the aired version include the first verse. Seriously, a girl's got needs, here.

And yes, including the first verse would be so very smart, no matter how it goes.
ETA: Okay, this is legit. The cover is up on Amazon.
