misqueue: Blaine smiling at Kurt on stage after apologizing in 3x05 "The First Time" (glee - kurt/blaine - shared smile)

On the list of stories I probably won't write

But I'm not ruling it out completely.

I'd like a D.C. based AU where Blaine is an intern in Burt's office and Burt takes a liking to him and tries to play matchmaker (awkwardly) between Blaine and a reluctant Kurt.

I say go for it! You're going to need something to work on when you finish In the World of Silence!

Thanks for the encouragement!

I actually have an original story I've been putting off until ITWOS is done that I'll get stuck into after, but when that's done... :) If I can come up with an outline that won't be anything longer than, say, 10K words for this premise, I might consider it more seriously. It would require a fair bit of research (though I used to live near DC, have spent time in the city, and I'm a bit of a political junkie so it would all be fun research to do). It's really one of those things I'd probably rather read than write.

That sounds like fun. I think it would take someone with a behind-the-scenes working of DC internships do to it justice though (well, unless someone wanted to do a crap-ton of research...

Maybe if you knew office internship etc you could wing it.

I do have some small experience & knowledge there. My partner interned with think tanks, NGO's, embassies, and almost with the White House in D.C. I've done some volunteer work with NGO's in the city (mostly research and a little bit o' congressional lobbying) so I wouldn't be approaching it completely cold. There would still be a lot of research to do for it, which would be fun, but I'd really rather read it than write it myself.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'll certainly let it simmer in my subconscious. :)
