Anyway! It's a fun film. At this point, with this fic, I feel like I'm almost writing a below-the-decks story, because the film is very much focused at the front of the action. There's not much about the people who are living their lives in the shadow of this conflict. I tend to be drawn to wondering about what else is going on. Eventually Kurt's going to be copiloting a Jaeger, but I wanted to lay this groundwork first. I'm also really glad that the story is making sense, even if you haven't seen the film. Hurray!
Made of steel, determined, and laser focused are exactly how I've hoped to portray Kurt's general mood/demeanor in this, so I love that you're getting that--and I'm so glad it feels in character for him. I'm glad you like Mercedes too. Kurt needs a little respite from himself--his anger and his obsessions--and I'm hoping their friendship in this will give him one. He's not very compassionate with himself anyway.
